WILLIAM NEIL GRANT
W. N. Grant, retired banker of Indianola, was born in Illinois Dec. 26, 1874, the son of George W. and Lilly (McPherson) Grant. He married Gertrude M. Warnock, daughter of Austin and Martha (Plummer) Warnock, Sept. 21, 1909. Mrs. Grant was born in Polk county, Iowa, May 21, 1880. Children of Mr. and Mrs. Grant are George W. Grant, born July 18, 1910, and Martha Ruth Grant (Blenn), born March 30, 1913.
From 1913 to 1918 W. N. Grant was treasurer of Warren County. In 1919 when the Peoples Trust and Savings bank of Indianola was organized, he became cashier of the bank. In February, 1949, he completed 30 years of service with the bank as cashier and vice-president. In April, 1949, he resigned from active duty with the bank, but continued as a director and inactive vice-president.
Mr. and Mrs. Grant are members of the Methodist Church. Fraternally he is affiliated with the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons. He is a Republican in his political convictions. Mr. and Mrs. Grant live at 1001 North Howard street, Indianola.
