WILLIAM C. FRY
W. C. Fry, farmer of Allen Township, was born on the Stumbo farm north of Carlisle Sept. 2, 1872, the son of Perry and Emeline (Stumbo) Fry. His maternal grandfather, William C. Stumbo, came to Iowa in 1843, and a few years later entered some 215 acres of land in Polk and Warren counties. His father, Perry Fry, came to Warren County in 1864 and in 1874 bought the farm on which his son is now living. W. C. Fry has lived on this farm 68 years.
Mr. Fry married Gelene Baldwin, who was born in Mahaska County, Iowa. Audra, a daughter of this marriage, married H. C. Mott. Following the death of his wife, Mr. Fry married Flossie L. Parsons, daughter of George W. and Janet (Rawson) Parsons. The living children of this marriage are: William Frederick, born Dec. 16, 1921; Harry J., born Dec. 27, 1927; John P., born July 4, 1929.
W. C. Fry served as president of the Citizens bank of Carlisle. Fraternally he belongs to the Masons. His religious affiliation is with the Christian church and in politics he supports the Republican Party.
