WADE A. GARDNER
Wade A. Gardner, Warren County extension director, was born at Washington, Iowa, Sept. 20, 1893, the son of James E. and Viola Gardner. Mr. Gardner attended Washington High School, Grinnell College for one year, and then Iowa State College at Ames, where he graduated in 1918 with the degree of bachelor of science in animal husbandry. In March, 1945, he became extension director for Warren County, coming here from Washington County, where he had been club agent.
On Jan. 1, 1919, Mr. Gardner married Helen A. Morton, daughter of John and Alice Morton. Mrs. Gardner was born at Washington March 25, 1896. Mr. and Mrs. Gardner have three sons: John David, born Oct. 14, 1921; James Richard, born Sept. 4, 1924; Donald Jerome, born Sept. 19, 1929.
The Gardners are members of the First Methodist Church of Indianola and Mr. Gardner is superintendent of the Sunday school. Fraternally he is affiliated with the Masonic Order, including the Consistory and Shrine. He is a member of the Rotary club, Izaak Walton league, Farm Bureau and the American Legion. During World War I he served in the U. S. army. Mrs. Gardner is a member of the Shakespeare club, Garden club, Woman's club and Order of Eastern Star. Mr. and Mrs. Gardner live at 509 West Boston avenue, Indianola.
