CHARLES HOWARD FISHER
C. H. Fisher, who is in the real estate, loan and insurance business in Indianola, was born in Decatur county April 20, 1875, the son of Harry and Alma (Shelton) Fisher. Sept. 22, 1897, he married Lulu Lake (born Nov. 18, 1873), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Lake. Children born to the Fishers are Mabel (Hickman), Feb. 4, 1899, and Harold L., Jan. 27, 1904. Mabel lives in Indianola and Harold in Boone.
Before coming to Indianola Mr. Fisher was engaged in the hardware, implement and undertaking business in Weldon. When their children were of college age, Mr. and Mrs. Fisher made up their minds they wanted them educated at Simpson College; so they sold their business in Weldon and moved to Indianola. Having had some experience in dealing in land, Mr. Fisher hung out his shingle as a real estate dealer, in which business he has been successful.
They arrived in Indianola Oct. 19, 1919. Mr. Fisher comments: "We brought our cow and rain barrel. Having always been Methodists, we were taken into the church by Dr. Fred N. Willis, and the Fisher family has always loved our church and the people of Indianola." Mr. Fisher has been a member of the official board of the church almost from the time of his arrival.
He served two terms on the city council. Fraternally he is affiliated with the Ancient Free and Accepted Masons, including Za-Ga-Zig Shrine. Since 1927 he has been a member of the Indianola Ro- tart' club, with a perfect attendance record for the past 15 years.
Mr. Fisher is a Republican. Address: 911 North Howard street.
