GEORGE T. DESENBERG
George T. Desenberg, president of the Norwalk-Cumming State bank, was born at Norwalk Oct. 28, 1895, son of William F. and Margaret J. Desenberg. Mr. Desenberg attended high school and business college.
April 26, 1918, he married Blanche Casady, daughter of Frank B. and Rose Casady. Mrs. Desenberg was born at Norwalk Nov. 11, 1894. Mr. and Mrs. Desenberg have three children: Paul C., born Nov. 22, 1919; Donald, born July 21, 1928; Mary Ellen, born Jan. 30, 1931.
Mr. Desenberg entered the field of banking as a bookkeeper of the Cumming Savings bank at Cumming March 2, 1914. He became cashier of the Norwalk State bank July 11, 1917, and president of the bank, now known as the Norwalk-Cumming State bank, Dec. 27, 1945. Mr. Desenberg served in World War I in the 313th cavalry and the 70th Field artillery with the rank of regimental supply sergeant. Mr. Desenberg worships in the faith of the Christian Church, and is fraternally affiliated with the Masonic order. His political ties are with the Republican party. Address; Norwalk, Iowa.
