RAY DICKENSON
Ray Dickenson, son of Thomas and Clara L. Robinson Dickenson, was born May 7, 1894, in Virginia Township. Here he grew to manhood and attended school, then went to school in Des Moines, where he graduated from West high school in the class of 1915. He entered Iowa State college at Ames.
On Nov. 9, 1922, he married Doris Taylor. Children of Mr. and Mrs. Dickenson are: Darrel, born Feb. 20, 1927, who married Merlene Cadwell Sept. 6, 1947; Evelyn, who married James Harsh; Kenneth, who is at home, a lad of 15 who has appeared on radio programs as a singer. Mr. Dickenson has been a rural route mail carrier at New Virginia for the past 33 years. He farmed 18 years, is a member of the Christian church, a Mason, World War I veteran, a Legionnaire, and his political ties are with the Democratic Party.
