GUY COON
Guy Coon, farmer near Hartford, was born in the community in which he lives on Dec. 17, 1880. He is a descendant of pioneer families in Warren County being the son of George W. and Martha (Black) Coon. His maternal grandfather, Samuel Black, was an early settler and land buyer in Richland township.
Guy Coon married Bessie M. Canaday, who was born at Palmyra March 31, 1885. Mrs. Coon is the daughter of W. A. and Lucy (Parsons) Canaday. Children of Mr. and Mrs. Guy Coon are: Delmar B., born June 6, 1907, and Ruth, born Aug. 5, 1908.
Mr. Coon is a Republican in his political convictions. In the management of his farm he has been one of the most progressive in the community. The windbreak on his farm was one of the first set out in Warren County by the Iowa Extension service, and is one of the best in the county.
