GOVERNMENT - Leslie M. Shaw (November 2, 1848 – September 10, 1933)
Leslie Mortier Shaw, Secretary of the Treasury of the United States in the cabinet of President Roosevelt; Governor of the State of Iowa, 1898-1902; permanent chairman of International Monetary Convention, Indianapolis, 1898; practiced law at Denison, Iowa, 1876-1897; engaged in banking at Denison, Manilla, and Charter Oak, Iowa, 1880; made Doctor of Laws by Simpson College, 1898; by Cornell College, 1899; by Wesleyan University, 1904; by Dickinson College, 1908; lecturer and author; class of 1876.
