The following men and women have been selected as typical of the outstanding recognition achieved by alumni of Simpson College in representative fields of endeavor:

ARMY - Maj. Charles A. Schimelfenig (December 25, 1888 – September 10, 1933)
Major Charles A. Schimelfenig, member of the general staff of the United States Army; graduate of the United States Military Academy; director of ordnance for two corps of American troops on the western front during the World War; before the World War was assigned to duty in the Philippine Islands, and at the government arsenal at Rock Island; following the war, remained with the Army of occupation until 1921; A. B. Degree from Simpson in 1911, at the same time being graduated from West Point. [Read his obituary on this site.]
