[In Sep 1885, residents in Warren County were not happy with the Republican controlled county officials and formed a People’s County Convention to nominate county officials on a People’s County ticket. The following “biographical” information was written for those candidates]
James B. Frame, the nominee for Coroner, is a comparative stranger to us, though we have head a slight acquaintance with him for 12 or 15 years, and have known him only as a worthy citizen. The office to which he is nominated is of comparatively minor importance, but in case of the incapacity of the Sheriff or vacancy in his office the law provides that the Coroner may discharge the duties of Sheriff. Mr. Frame was fairly nominated as candidate for Coroner, by the Republicans, at their recent convention, and that, too, without asking for the place, or being consulted about it in the least. Then before the convention adjourned, for some reason that we will at present leave the Republican bosses to explain, he was ruthlessly kicked out and Charley Shaw nominated. Charley had wanted to be nominated for Treasurer. He asked the Republican party for bread and they gave him a stone, to show their love for the crippled soldier. He doesn’t want the Coroner’s office; can not make a living out of it. Mr. Frame is willing to served and the convention last Saturday said that justice should be done with him. He too, is a crippled soldier.
