William John Hewitt (1868-1940)

William John Hewitt was born Aug 28, 1868 in Henry County, Iowa, the son of Joseph M. and Caroline (Winters) Hewitt. William married Anna Lida Story on July 20, 1893 in Indianola. William Hewitt was a policeman in Indianola. He also served as Warren County Auditor from 1904-1908. William and Anna had one son, Leroy D. Hewitt, born January 1898 in Indianola. William died April 12, 1940 and is buried along with Anna in the Indianola IOOF Cemetery. Anna was born in September 1869 in Iowa and died in 1947. Her parents were Isaac K. and Rebecca (Ramey) Story.
