May be able to be of some small assistance in you additional problem. Beginning with the 1900 Federal census I find;

1900 Federal census for Center Township, City of Ottumwa, Wapello county, Iowa

Residing at 297 South Davis Street
Bradley, Mary A., head, born Mar 1835 in Ohio; father born Conn.; mother born Mass.
Bradley, Grant, son, born Dec 1873, in Iowa; father born New York; mother born Ohio
Bradley, Minnie, dau, born Feb 1887 in Iowa; father born New York; mother born Ohio

I assume that the info on the parents of Minnie was an error of assumption on the census taker's part. (You may want to sit down for what follows). Mary indicates that she is the mother of 22 children of which 13 are living in 1900.

Based on the above I found:

From the 1880 Federal census for Keokuk Township, Wapello county, Iowa

Bradley, Elliott C., head, aged 61, born NY, father born Conn., mother born NY
Bradley, Mary A., wife, aged 45, born Ohio, father born Vermont, mother born Mass.
Bradley, Ella M., dau, aged 14, born Iowa
Bradley, James F., son, aged 13, born Iowa
Bradley, Etta C., dau, aged 11, born Iowa
Bradley, Mary E., dau, aged 9, born Iowa
Bradley, U.S. Grant, son, aged 7, born Iowa
Bradley, Sherman T., son, aged 5, born Iowa
Bradley, George W., son, aged 2, born Iowa.

From the 1870 Federal census for Marion Township, Davis county, Iowa:

Bradley, Elliott C., head, aged 51, born NY
Bradley, Mary A., wife, aged 36, born Ohio
Bradley, Oscar W. son, aged 12, born Illinois
Bradley, Emma, dau, aged 7, born Iowa
Bradley, Ella, dau, aged 5, born Iowa
Bradley, James, dau, aged 4, born Iowa
Bradley, Ettie, dau, aged 2, born Iowa

From the 1850 Federal census for Henderson county, Illinois:

Bradley, Elliott C., aged 30, born NY
Bradley, Mahala J., aged 24, born NY
Bradley, Julius C., aged 5, born Illinois
Bradley, William E., aged 4, born Illinois
Bradley, Francis H., aged 2, born Illinois

From Illinois marriage records:

Elliott C. Bradley married Mahaley Jane Foy on 5 Jan 1843 in McDonough County, Illinois

Elliott C. Bradley married Mrs. Mary A. Goodwill on 4 Mar 1861 in McDonough County, Illinois

Based on the 1895 Iowa census, I believe that all of Elliott and Mary's children (excluding Minnie) were born in Davis county, Iowa.

Mary E. Bradley married Arthur W. Summers on 18 Jul 1888
Sherman T. Bradley married Gertrude Langford on 21 Mar 1894

I can find no marriage record for U.S. Grant Bradley. The last I find of him is in 1920 where he is policeman and living in Spokane, Washington .
