Eliza died at 2:45 am on February 24th. In 1919 there were frequent trains leaving Kansas City. Her coffin was probably on a train by late morning or early afternoon and burial by the following day, the 25th. If the undertaker records are still available, they might list an Iowa undertaker or agent contact. Also there should have been a burial transit permit issued in Kansas City. Typically if buried with 24 hours or so and transported across state lines, embalming was not required. The connection to Iowa is important because she may be buried in a plot in Ottumwa in their name.
