From the "Ottumwa Courier" dated Tuesday 16 Feb 1960.
"Mrs Charlottie F. Gushard, 82 of 925 Boone Avenue, died Monday at 10:20 a.m. at Mt.Pleasant after a long illness.
She was born January 3, 1878, at Jamestown, Ind. the daughter of John and Liza Ann Erving Wyatt. On September 17, 1939 she was married to Henry M. Gushard. He died November 26, 1958. She was also preceded in death by a son, Charles, and three sisters.
Surviving are three sons, John, William and Wesley Jaster, all of Ottumwa; two daughters, Mrs. Alta Bergmeier and Mrs. Elsie Mitchell, both of Waterloo; 20 granchildren and 70 great-granchildren; and a brother, Samuel Wyatt of Ottumwa.
Funeral services will be Wednesday at 2:30 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel with Sr. Major Walter E. Lee of the Salvation Army Citadel in charge. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery."
