I don't know how much help I'll be but here goes. By the way, all spellings are as they appear in local records. First, the Klodt family.
Anton Klodt was born Oct 1842 in Russia and died on 11 Sep 1910 in Ottumwa, Wapello County, Iowa. He is buried in Calvary Cemetery.
Carolina was born Nov 1844 in Austria and died on 30 Oct 1930 in Ottumwa. She is also buried in Calvary Cemetery.
Anton and Carolina had at least 6 children all born in Iowa as follows:
1. Peter Klodt, born Feb 1875
2. Therisa Klodt, born Oct 1877
3. William Anton Klodt, born 25 Mar 1880. William died 31 Oct 1970 in Ottumwa and is also buried in Calvary Cemetery. William married Mary Maria Philomena Yochum on 10 Feb 1910 in Wapello County, Iowa
4. Albert M. Klodt, born Aug 1882 died May 1971 in Sydney. Richland County, Montana.
5. George Klodt, born Mar 1885, died Aug 1968 in Milton, Van Buren County, Iowa.
6. Lizzie Klodt, born Aug 1889.In the 1900 census Anton was living in Chequest township, Van Buren County, Iowa, so you may wish to check there. As far as I know the only Klodt decendents still living in Wapello county are those of William's. His son Edward died in 1977, but he has granchildren and great-grandchildren still living here.
Frank Knecht married Theresia Elsesohn on 15 Jan 1877 in Wapello County. According to the 1900 census they were living in Union Township Davis County, Iowa. It appears that Frank went by Francis. The 1900 census shows the family as follows:
Francis Knecht, born May 1846 in Austria. Francis died in 1923 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery.
Theresa M. Knecht, born Mar 1854 in Iowa. Theresa died in 1936 and is also buried in Calvary Cemetery,
August B. Knecht, born Apr 1881 in Iowa. August died in 1926 and is buried in Calvary Cemetery.
Julius Knecht, born Mar 1883 in Iowa. Julius died in Sep 1965 in Montana.
Gertrude Knecht, born May 1885 in Iowa
Edward A. Knecht born 30 Sep 1886 in Iowa. Edward died Aug 1971 in Ottumwa. He married Maude M. Shaffer on 10 Nov 1915 in Ottumwa.
Frank Knecht, born Nov 1889. Frank died in Apr 1972 in Birmingham, Van Buren County, Iowa.
Levi M. Knecht, born Oct 1892. Levi died in 1927 and is buried with his parents in Calvary Cemetery.
Mary Madeline Knecht, born Mar 1896. She married George William Brown on 15 May 1923 in Wapello County.I checked the local telephone directory and do not show any Knecht families in Wapello county. Hope some of this helps.
