Rev. Donald J. Baker, 75, formerly of Ottumwa died at 11:40 a.m. February 11, 2012 at the Bettendorf Health Center in Bettendorf, Iowa.

He was born February 13, 1936 in Jefferson, Iowa to Lyle and Louise Cain Baker. He married Joyce L. Scott on March 1, 1957. A graduate of Valley High School in W. Des Moines, he pastored for over thirty years at the Bethel United Pentecostal Church in Ottumwa and was also an employee of John Deere Ottumwa Works for thirty years, retiring in 1996. He was a member United Pentecostal Church International.

Surviving are his wife, Joyce; a daughter, Linda (Duane) DeBoef of Sherrard, IL; two sons, Kelly (Cheri) Baker of Waukee and Lonnie Baker of Florida; ten grandchildren and twenty-four great grandchildren; his sister, Mary Lou Palmer of Des Moines and his brother, Ed (Pat) Baker of Waukee. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Bill Baker.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Apostolic Church, 2611 Easton Blvd., Des Moines, with Pastor Carl Lagow, Pastor Clayton George, Pastor Rex Deckard and Pastor John Allard officiating. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery in West Des Moines.

Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Reece Funeral Home in Ottumwa with the family present from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday.
