Sherrill D. Shaw

Sherril D. Shaw, 52, of Lancaster, Missouri, died Thursday morning, February 16, 1978, in the Veterans Hospital in Des Moines, Iowa, where he had been a patient several weeks.

The son of Ralph and Goldie Tallman Shaw, he was born February 13, 1926, in Schuyler County. Most of his life was spent in Schuyler County, where he was engaged in farming. He also sheared sheep.

During World War II, Mr. Shaw served with the United States Air Force.

Surviving are one daughter, Lou Anne Shaw of Aurora, Illinois, two step-daughters, Debra Walker of Aurora, Illinois, and Mary Baldauskas of Minneapolis, Minnesota; two step-grandchildren, five brothers, Ralph Shaw, Jr. of Ottumwa, Iowa, Buel Shaw of Lawrence, Kansas, Burl Shaw of Lancaster, Bill Shaw of rural Glenwood, and James Shaw of Memphis, and one sister, Eileen Thrasher of Ottumwa, Iowa.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, February 18, 1978, at 2 o'clock in the Norman Funeral Chapel in Lancaster. Bob Schofield, pastor of the Lancaster Christian Church, conducted the services. Burial was in the Darby Cemetery, northeast of Lancaster, with military rites at the graveside. Bearers were his brothers.

Mr. Shaw was well known around Memphis.
