LEONARD SERVICES
The funeral service for DAVID W. LEONARD, 43, of Walker, and a former Ottumwa,Iowa who died at his home Saturday, will be held Wednesday at 3 PM at Johnson Funeral Chapel and burial will be at Shaul Cemetery where military services will be conducted by the American Legion.
The casket will remain closed.Deaths
DAVID W. LEONARD, 43, of Walker and a former Ottumwa,Iowa was found dead in his home Saturday evening. Death was due to accidental carbon monoxide poisoning according to the Buchanan County Medical Examiner.He was born March 25, 1928 at Little Rock, Ark., the son of WILLIAM and MARY RUPE LEONARD. He lived most of his life here prior to moving away 10 years ago.
He was an employee of C.Taylor Roofing Co. at Shellsburg. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict.
Surviving are one son, MARK DAVID LEONARD, one daughter, LAURA JEAN LEONARD, both of Independence. Five brothers; WILLIAM of Council Bluffs,Iowa; FRANK of Orraville, Ca., ALFRED of Romney, West Va., JOHN of Tavares, Fla., and JERRY of Ottumwa,Iowa: Seven sisters; MRS. MARTHA MACKLIN of Ottumwa,Iowa; MRS. DIXIE ORONA-RHOADES of Floris,Iowa; MRS. GLADYS WRIGHT of Albia,Iowa; MRS. GRACE DAWSON of Des Moines,Iowa; MRS. MARY STEPHENSON of Selma, Al., MRS. LORRAINE KUSER of Roosevelt, Utah, MRS. PATRICIA LEONARD of Cedar Rapids,Iowa.
He was preceeded in death by his parents and one brother, JAMES.The body will arrive at Johnson's Funeral Chapel today to await completion of arrangements.
