CECIL E. RUGGLES , 75 formerly of Hedrick,Iowa and Ottumwa,Iowa, died April 4, 2002, at the Perry Lutheran Home in Perry,Iowa.
He was born July 25, l926, in Center, Colorado, to WALTER and LETHA INGLE RUGGLES. He married VIRGINIA COLE on January 20, l945. She preceded him in death. He married PATRICIA KELLEY on January 3, l997.
After serving in the Army during World War II, he worked for the M and St. L. Railroad and then worked for over 25 years for Contel Telephone, retiring in l986. He was a member of the Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon, a life member of Post No. 764l Veterans of Foreign Wars in New London, a member of Arendt-BoWlin-Stubbs Post No. 83 American Legion in Hedrick, Ottumwa Masonic Lodge No. l6 A.F. & A.M., Davenport Consistory and Pioneers of Telephone.
Surviving are three sons, HOWARD of Grimes,Iowa, ROGER of Leavenworth, KS, and RICHARD of Coon Rapids,Iowa; five grandchildren; a great-granddaughter and a sister, Bbetty MULLIKIN of Brownsville, TX.
He was preceded in death by a brother, NEIL RUGGLES. Funeral services were held Monday, April 8, 2002 in Reece Funeral Home with the Rev. David Albert officiating. Burial was in Hillcrest Cemetery in Brighton. Military Services were conducted by Arendt-Bowlin-Stubbs Post No. 83 American Legion. Pallbearers were Howard, Roger, Richard, Scott, Jeff and Bret RUGGLES.
Memorials may be made to Living Hope Bible Church in Eldon, Ia.
