Stewart E. Pilcher, 49, of Floris route 2, died at 9:50 a.m. today at the St. Joseph hospital. He was born December 7, 1894, in Davis county, the son of Sylvester and Ada Pilcher, and lived his entire life in Davis county. He was a member of the Floris Christian church. He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Maude Pilcher, and by the following children: James Eugene Pilcher, in the Navy. Mrs. Sylvia Lowe and Lloyd Pilcher, both of Ottumwa; Clifford Pilcher, Ottumwa route 2, Mrs. Lavelle Pickrell, Forest and Dave Pilcher all of Floris route2. He is also survived by two grandchildren has parents, Mr. and Mrs. Sylvester Pilcher, and the following brothers and sisters; Mrs. Theresa Grinstead, Floyd and Harold Pilcher, all of Ottumwa; Clarence and Russell Pilcher, Belknap, Roland Pilcher in the Navy, Mrs. Ethel Smith, Bloomfield; Mrs. Hazel Smith, Mark; Mrs. Elva Ritz, Tipton, Mrs. Lucille Pence Floris and Mrs. Opal Sample.
Funeral services for Steward E. Pilcher of Floris route 2, who died at the St. Joseph hospital Friday morning, will be held at the Johnson funeral chapel at 1:30 p.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Harold Day of the Fundamentalist Baptist church at Floris. Burial will be in Bloomfield cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ansil Gilland, Frank Risdom, Merle Davidson, and Ray McReynolds. The body was taken to the residence this afternoon and will be returned to the funeral chapel Monday evening.
