Dr. Forrest Wesley Simmonds, 64, a resident of Quincy, Illinois, died at 11:30 p.m. Tuesday at the home of his brother in law and sister in law, Frank Currey and Margaret C. Gallagher of 116 North Jefferson street. He was born at Eldon, May 4, 1880, the son of Charles A. and Elizabeth McCausey Simmonds. He was reared and educated in Ottumwa where the family home was on East Maple avenue. Dr. Simmonds was a graduate of the Northwestern dental school and practiced dentistry in Quincy for more than 30 years. He is survived by his wife, Susan M. and one daughter, Johanna Elizabeth, both of Quincy. The body will remain at the Vaughan funeral home unitl Thursday afternoon, when it will be removed to the Currey home.
Funeral services will be held at 8:30 a.m. Friday at the home and at 9 a.m. at the St. Mary’s Catholic church, where a requiem high mass will be celebrated by the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J.M. Walsh V.F. Burial will be at Calvary cemetery. Friends will meet at 8 p.m. Thursday at the home to recite the Rosary.
