Charles W. Swope, 70, a life-long resident of Wapello county, died at the Rest Haven home, 820 Pershing avenue, at 6:30 p.m. Friday. Survivors include a son, Elmer Swope, Aurora, Illinois, a brother, Abner Swope, Ottumwa, and half-brother, Clifford Swope, Rock Island, Illinois. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. A.D. McClure. Burial will be in Rock Bluff, cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lonnie Vest, Raymond Swope, Donald Bradley, Everett Bradley, Vernard Bradley, and Ales Knox.
