Alex W. Cundiff, 82, resident of this community for 61 years, died at 1 a.m. Sunday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James E. Copple 502 Osceola street. He was the son of James B. and Ellen Ann Cundiff and was born March 4, 1862, in Harden county Kentucky. He was preceded in death by one son, Frank and one daughter, Effie. He is survived by his wife, Emma, one daughter, Mrs. Copple of Pasadena, California and William B. Cundiff of Clarinda, also six grandchildren. The body was removed to the Johnson funeral home to await completion of arrangements.
Funeral services for Alex. W. Cundiff, who died at the home of his daughter, Mrs. James E. Copple of 502 Osceola street, will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. A.D. McClure will be in charge and burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery.
