Stanley Hathaway, former Ottumwan, died suddenly Thursday morning at his home in Rock Island, Illinois. He had been employed at the government arsenal. Born January 9, 1901, in Red Oak, he was the son of Frank W. and Eldora Hathaway. He was reared in Ottumwa, later moving to Newton. Survivors include his wife, Margaret, his father, Frank. W. Hathaway, Ottumwa and a sister, Mrs. Addis Riffle, Ottumwa. The body will arrive in Ottumwa tonight and funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at the Lester Jay funeral home, in charge of the Rev. Theodore Leonard of the First Methodist church. Burial will be made in Memorial Lawn cemetery.
