George Half, 17, Drowns In Nebraska
George Everett Half, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Haff, Ottumwa route 4, was drowned Sunday at Sidney, Nebraska. No details of the death have been received here. The young man formerly worked at John Morrell & Co., but had been employed on a ranch at Bushnell, Nebraska recently. Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Earl Haff, Seaman First Class in the Coast Guard, and Wayne Haff, gunner’s mate, second class, in the Navy, and by his grandfather, George Haven Haff, Corydon. The body will be returned here and taken to the Johnson funeral chapel pending arrangements.
Funeral services for George Everett Haff, 17, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Haff of Ottumwa route 4, who was drowned Sunday at Sidney, Nebraska, will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday at the Johnson funeral chapel. The services will be in charge of the Rev. A.D. McClure and burial will be made in Shaul cemetery. His uncles will serve as pallbearers. He was preceded in death by one sister, Juanita, and one brother, Andrew Max.
