Mrs. Lydia E. Riffle, 85 of Agency, died at the St. Joseph hospital at 1:30 p.m. Monday. The daughter of James and Mary Burnaugh, she was born September 25, 1858, in Knox county, Illinois. She had been a resident of Agency and vicinity for 40 years and was a member the Agency Methodist church. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Harry Johnson, Agency; a son, Verl E. Riffle, Pomona, California; two grandchildren, Severd Johnson, Agency, and Donna Jean Riffle, Pomona, California; a brother Alexander Burnaugh, Davenport and two sisters, Mrs. Ella Broadfield, Ottumwa route 5, and Mrs. Anton Fischer, Marblehead, Mississippi. She was preceded in death by her husband Thomas G. Riffle, is 1932, by an infant son and a sister.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Agency Methodist church, conducted by the Rev. Wilmer Doughty. Burial will be in the Competine cemetery. The body will remain at the Johnson funeral chapel unitl Wednesday noon.
