Mrs. R.W. Funk Dies Live Here 42 Years
Mrs. Augusta Stowe Funk, 68, wife of R.W. Funk, vice president of the Union Bank & Trust Co. died at their home 135 East Maple Avenue, at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday. She had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past 42 years. Mrs. Funk was the daughter of Isaac T. Bull and Jennie E. Bull and was born at College Springs, Iowa, March 26, 1876. She was a member of the First Methodist church and of the Elizabeth Ross chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. Surviving are her husband two sons, Joseph T. Funk, Camden, New Jersey, and R.W. Funk Jr. of Chicago, a grandson Richard V. Funk of Chicago, and one sister, Mrs. E.R. Ferguson of Shenandoah. The body was taken to the Johnson funeral chapel to await the completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Augusta Stowe Funk, wife of R.W. Funk, who died at her home, 135 East Maple avenue, at 6:45 p.m. Tuesday, will be held at the First Methodist church at 10 a.m. Friday in charge of the Rev. Theodore Leonard, D.D. pastor of the church. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. The casket will be taken from the Johnson funeral chapel to the church at 8:30 a.m. Friday and will be closed at the opening of the service. Pallbearers will be S.S. Barker, L.C. Hardscog, T.J. Madden, C.P. Glenn, J.C. Blackford, H.F. Cousins and Jake Cohen.
