August Schaub, 64, long time resident of Ottumwa died at 2:10 this morning at the county hospital, where he had been a patient for the last three weeks. He resided on Ottumwa route 7. He was born February 10, 1880 in Ottumwa, the son of Louise and Sophia Schaub. He spent his entire life here as a farmer with the exception of five years. He is survived by five brothers, Louie L., Otto, and Fred of Ottumwa, George of Des Moines and Henry of Chicago; two sisters; Mrs. Gus Osterberg of Ottumwa and Mrs. Frank Smart of West Liberty. The body has been removed to the Vaughan funeral home pending funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for August Schaub of Ottumwa rural route 7, who die Thursday morning at the Wapello county hospital, were held this afternoon at 2 o’clock at the Vaughan funeral home with the Rev. John R. Estes of the First Baptist church officiating. Burial was made in Ottumwa cemetery.
