T.F. Norfolk Dies; Ottumwan 61 Years

T.F. Norfolk, 81, of 502 North Jefferson street, died at the Ottumwa hospital at 6:54 p.m. Monday. He was a member of the board of trustees of the First Congregational church and charter member of the Modern Woodmen of America, as well as being prominent in the Royal Neighbors of America, the Knights of Pythias, B.P.O.E. No. 347 and the Loyal Order of Moose. Mr. Norfolk was born August 22, 1862 in Pennsylvania, the son of John Fryar and Lucian Norfolk. He came to Ottumwa in 1883 and had made this his home since that time. He married Nettie Mae Burnabee at Ainsworth, Iowa, November 2, 1887. His wife preceded him in death in 1940. Surviving is one daughter, Mrs. C.W. Jennings of Ottumwa, and one sister, Mrs. Florence Ann Davis of LaPlata, Missouri.
Funeral services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Lester Jay funeral home in charge of the Rev. Edward W. Day D.D. pastor of the First Congregational church. Burial will be in the Ottumwa cemetery. The body will remain at the funeral home until the time for services.
