Mrs. Phillis Jane Cohagan, 80, died at her home, 730 Wabash avenue at 4:30 p.m. Sunday. She was the daughter of John and Maria Tomlin and was born in Ohio May 21, 1864. She was a resident of Davis county before coming to Ottumwa 35 years ago. She was a member of the Methodist church. Survivors include two sons, E.A. Cohagan and J.A. Cohagan both of Ottumwa; a daughter Orpha Jackson, Ottumwa; three grandchildren and five great grandchildren and a brother, C.M. Tomlin, Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by her husband, Peter Cohagan.
Funeral services will be at 3:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Johnson funeral chapel conducted by the Rev. James Worrell of New Virginia. Burial will be at Shaul cemetery. Nephews will serve as pallbearers. The casket will be taken to the residence Monday morning and will be returned to the chapel at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
