Mrs. Nancy E. Elliott, 79, of 778 Minneopa avenue, died at 2:23 p.m. Friday at the Ottumwa hospital. The daughter of John and Sondra Williams, she was born in Hardin county, Kentucky, June 12, 1865, and was married December 4, 1888, to James R. Elliott at Elizabethtown, Kentucky. They came to Wapello county in 1889 where, with the exception of nine years in South Dakota, she had lived until her death. Mrs. Elliott was a member of the Finley Avenue Baptist church. Surviving are three sons, Cash G. Elliott of Blakesburg, Guy E. Elliott of Huron, South Dakota, and John R. Elliott of Ottumwa, and two daughters Mrs. Emma McFarling of Amarillo, Texas, and Mrs. Hazel Morrow of Elgin, Illinois. Nine grandchildren and three great grandchildren and a brother, John H. Williams of Ottumwa, also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband, James, May 16, 1928.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 3:30 p.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. J.R. Estes, pastor of the First Baptist church. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. Pallbearers will be Martin Lock, Harold Gustafson, Chester Morrow, Ernest Millhouse, Fritz Moyer and Eugene L. Wulfekuhler.
