Mrs. Mae Helena Steller, 63, wife of Walter Steller, died at 7 a.m. today at her home in Harrows Branch. She was born at Harper June 20, 1881, the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ethen Gilbert. She was married at Ottumwa March 27, 1902 and had lived here 50 years when she died. She was a member of St. Mary’s church. Besides her husband, she is survived by a sister, Mrs. Lucille Fox, Ottumwa, a brother Edwin Gilbert, Ottumwa, and four nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be at 9 a.m. Monday at St. Mary’s church, when the Rt. Rev. Msgr. J.M. Walsh V.F. will celebrate a requiem high mass. Burial will be at Memorial Lawn cemetery. Members of the Altar and Rosary society of the church will meet at the Carroll Reece funeral home to recite the rosary at 8 p.m. Sunday. The body will remain at Reece’s until the time for services.
