Death Comes To Earl K. Kirkhart
Earl L. Kirkhart, 58, well known in Ottumwa as a meat cutter and meat market operator, died at 5:15 a.m. today at his home at 162 North Ward street. Recently he had been serving as a government inspector of meats at the John Morrell & Co. plant. He was born April 6, 1886 in Chariton, the son of Peter H. and Martha J. Kirkhart, and had lived in Ottumwa nearly all his life. He was a member of the First Methodist church, and of the Masonic lodge at Mt. Pleasant. He was married October 28, 1903 in Ottumwa to Halia C. Cummings, who survives him. He is also survived by one daughter, Mrs. V.F. Kelley, of Ottumwa and two sisters, Mrs. John Wood and Miss Nellie Kirkhart, both of Ottumwa. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday from the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. C.R. Reed. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.

Reed. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service. Pallbearers will be, E.M. Epperson, Chester Johnson, Seth Barker, Paul Sassaman, W.J. Nissen and Gilbert Carr.
