Recover Body Of Ottumwa Navy Flier
The body of Raymond Herbert Fisher, 28, Navy airman from Ottumwa lost in a crash in Chesapeake bay nearly two months ago has been recovered and will be returned to Ottumwa for burial. Recovery of the body of the second-class radioman was made May 12, according to the telegram to the mother, Mrs. Catherine Fisher of 138 South Willard street. Fisher was in a plane which took off from the deck of a carrier and crashed on March 15, He had been two years in the Navy and was a veteran of the Atlantic and Mediterranean service. Military services will be arranged for the Ottumwan at a date yet to be set. A Naval escort will bring the body back to Ottumwa. Mrs. Fisher has three other sons in the service, one an Army flying officer, one a Navy officer and the third a Navy enlisted man.
