George Phillip Ehrman, 64, a resident of Ottumwa his entire life, died today at his home, 701 East Second street. Though formerly in the cigar business here, he was on the custodian staff at the Ottumwa U.S. Naval air station at the time of his death. Mr. Ehrmann was born March 13, 1880, in Ottumwa the son of Wendell and Sophia Ehrmann. He was a member of the First Baptist church. Surviving are his wife, Maude, sons Sergeant Raymond Ehrmann, now in England, Clarence Ehrmann, Seattle, Washington, and one grandson, Edwin Eugene Ehrmann now serving in the Navy in the South Pacific. Two sisters, Mrs. Rose Miller and Mrs. Sophia Blily, Los Angeles, California and three brothers, Oscar Ehrmann, Los Angeles; Fritz Ehrmann, Hynes, California and Wendell Ehrmann, Davenport also survive. The body was taken to the Carroll Reece funeral home pending funeral arrangements. Funeral services for George Phillip Ehrmann, 64, who died Thursday will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Carroll Reece funeral home in charge of the Rev. John R. Estes of the First Baptist church. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery.
