Mrs. Clara Proctor, 82, of Southoak Towers, died Friday at 6:20 p.m. at the Ottumwa Hospital following a six-week illness.

She was born Dec. 1, 1889, in Davis County, the daughter of Frederick and Mary Gordon Ziegler. She lived in Ottumwa over 25 years and was a member of the Mount Zion United Methodist Church.

She was married to William L. Proctor Jan. 17, 1917, at Drakesville. He preceded her in death in 1946. Surviving are three sons, John, of Mesa, Ariz.; Edgar, of Keota; and Lester, of Danville; three daughters, Mrs. Mildred Chasey of Ottumwa, Mrs. Mary Olson of LaVerne, Calif.; and Mrs. Martha Fowler, of St. Louis; 16 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren and one brother, Walter Ziegler, of Ottumwa. She was preceded in death by three brothers, three sisters and one granddaughter.

Services will be Monday at 3 p.m. at the Johnson Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Robert Palmer of the First Pentecostal of the Assembly of God Church officiating. Burial will be in Shaul Cemetery.
