Mrs. May Winkelman, 70, died at 101 South Ward street at 1 a.m. Sunday. She had been a resident of Ottumwa for the past four years. Mrs. Winkelman was the daughter of George and Mary Robinson and was born in Monroe county, Iowa, May 13, 1873. She was married to Isaac Winkelman January 9, 1898 in Monroe county and he preceded her in death July 1, 1937. She was a member of the Ottumwa Christian church. Surviving are three sons, Staff Sergeant Otis Winkelman, who is stationed at Camp Claiborne, Louisiana, Jacob Howard Winkelman, Ottumwa and John Edward Winkelman, Pontiac, Michigan, and one daughter, Mrs. Maggie Wiand of Moulton. Eight grandchildren and a brother, Charles Robinson of Cheyenne, Wyoming, also survive. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by one daughter Wilmuth Frances. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. E.L. Frost, pastor of the Davis Street Christian church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery.
