David Henry Fulton, 77, a resident of Ottumwa for the past 33 years, died Saturday at the home of his daughter, Mrs. O.R. Ross, 632 Chester avenue. He was born January 22, 1867, in McLean county, Illinois, the son of Jefferson and Catherine Fulton. Moving to Leon when a young man he married Margaret Whitney to which union was born a son, Bernard H. Fulton. Following the death of his first wife he married Dora B. Piper, and to that union was born a daughter, Clara Fulton. After moving to Ottumwa, Mr. Fulton, became a barber, a trade he followed here for 30 years. He was a member of the Davis Street Christian Church, of the Empire lodge No. 269, A.F. & A.M., and the barbers’ union No. 133. Survivors in addition to his daughter, Clara are a grandson, Private First Class, Bernard D. Fulton, and a great granddaughter, Margaret Louise Fulton, both of San Diego, California; two sisters, Mrs. Marion Stanger of Ellsworth, Illinois, and Mrs. Virginia Baddeley of Wessington, South Dakota; a granddaughter in law, Mrs. Dorothea Fulton of Ottumwa and several nieces and nephews. His wife, Dora; his son, Bernard H. Fulton; two sisters Clara and Ellen Fulton, and a brother Wade P. Fulton, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Johnson funeral chapel in charge of the Rev. E. L. Frost, to be followed by Masonic services. A short services also will be held in the Slade funerial home at Leon with burial to me made in the Leon cemetery. The casket will be taken to the home of his daughter, Mrs. O.R. Ross at 10 a.m. Tuesday and will be returned to the Johnson funeral chapel Wednesday morning for services.
