Frances Marion Powell, 70, whose home was three- and one-half miles southwest of Farson died at 10:45 a.m. today at the St. Joseph hospital after an illness of about a year. He was born July 3, 1873, at Fort Wayne, Indiana, the son of Edwin and Mary Ann Powell, and came to Iowa as a small boy. He is survived by one sister and three brothers, Etta Powell, William A. and Thomas A. Powell of Ottumwa. He is also survived by two nieces, Kathryn and Pauline Powell, both of Ottumwa. The body is at the Community funeral home pending completion of funeral arrangements. Funeral services for Francis Marion Powell who died Monday at the St. Joseph hospital will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Community funeral chapel, in charge of the Rev. John Hastie. Burial will be in the Forrest cemetery in Oskaloosa. The body will remain at the funeral home until time for services.
