Oliver Kelly Reed Swearingen, 69, of 201 East Pennsylvania avenue died at 11:15 p.m. Wednesday in the St. Joseph hospital. He was born in Washington, Iowa, May 10, 1874, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Albert K. Swearingen. He married Miss Fannie Vinson in Ottumwa, April 13, 1898. Mr. Swearingen had lived practically all his life in Ottumwa. He was a sheet metal worker but had been retired for a number of years. He was a member of Modern Woodmen of America and the Knights and Ladies of Security. Survivors are his wife and one son, Russell V. Swearingen of Burlington: also, six grandchildren and a brother, Adison Swearingen of Oregon. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in the Carroll Reece funeral home, conducted by the Rev. C.R. Reed of the Willard Street Methodist church. Burial in Shaul cemetery.
