Thomas B. Hopkins, 63, of 321 Chilton avenue, died at his home at 6:15 p.m. Sunday. The son of Commodore and Millie Ann Hopkins, he was born in Davis county, May 1, 1880. He had lived in Ottumwa for 20 years and was an employee of Hardscog Manufacturing Co. for the last six years. Survivors are his wife, Sadie; a son, Owren Hopkins, Ottumwa; three daughters, Mrs. Mary Penniston, Mrs. Lena Countryman and Mrs. Audrey Goffield, all of Ottumwa; eight grandchildren; a great grandson; a sister, Mrs. Julia Ralson and brother, Eli Hopkins, both of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by a son and two sisters. The body is at the Johnson chapel. Funeral services for Thomas B. Hopkins, who died Sunday night at this home 321 Chilton avenue, will be at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. Everett Stufflebeam of Drakesville. Burial will be Taylor cemetery at Bunch. Pallbearers will be Art Carr, Matt Wilford, Bane Hardscog, Earl Jacks, Don Ceconi and John Reed.
