Thomas V. Pilcher, 68, a native of Davis county, died at 9:50 a.m. today at his home, 818 Wabash avenue. He was the son of Vile and Mary Pilcher and was born October 10, 1875 in Davis county. He had lived in Ottumwa the past 11 years. Survivors include his wife, Phoebe; a son, Carl Pilcher, Ottumwa; a daughter, Mrs. Alta Fitzgerald, Bloomfield; five grandchildren; three brothers, John Pilcher, Ottumwa, Charles Pilcher, Floris and Sylvester Pilcher, Belknap, and a sister, Mrs. John Wilson, Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by a son, two sisters, and a brother. The body was removed to the Johnson funeral chapel pending arrangements.
Funeral services for Thomas Vile Pilcher, who died Friday at his home, 818 Wabash avenue, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. Byron Wright and the Rev. Z. Everette Kellum. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The casket will be taken to the home of his son, Carl Pilcher, 909 Queen avenue at 4 p.m. today and will be returned to the chapel at noon Monday. Pallbearers will be Russell Pilcher, J.S. Pottorff, Zora Cohagen, Raymond Pilcher, John Houston and Sam Houston.
