Old Resident of Ottumwa, (1960) Iowa Bonnie B. Fouts, age 84 of Winfield, Iowa, formerly of Burlington, Iowa, died at 10:48 A.M. Friday July 14, 2006 in the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. She was born February 24, 1922 in Stronghurst, IL., the daughter of Erlin and Grace Burrell Lant.

Ms. Fouts had lived most of her adult life in Burlington before moving to the nursing home in Winfield in last month. She worked at the Iowa Army Ammunitions Plant in Middletown for 17 years. She was a Burlington historian, and an avid Cubs fan.

Survivors include 2 sons - Dennis Fouts of Iowa City, Iowa, Terry Fouts of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, 3 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and one brother - Eugene Lant of Boyington Beach, Florida. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother - Gale Lant. Her sister, Hazel Schwarz, of Sandwich, Illinois also passed away Friday July 14, 2006, five hours after Bonnie.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. Tuesday July 16, 2006 in the Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, IL. Burial will follow in the Olena Cemetery, near Stronghurst. Friends may call after 3:00 P.M. today in the Banks & Beals Funeral Home in Stronghurst, IL., where the family will be present from 6:00 until 8:00 P.M. today. A memorial Fund has been established for the American Diabetes Association.
