Mrs. J.A. Baker, 76, of 302 North Van Buren avenue, died at 7:10 a.m. today at Ottumwa hospital after an illness of six months. She was born in Hopeville, Iowa, July 23, 1867. Her husband preceded her in death in 1933, as did two daughters and two sons. Mrs. Baker was a member of the East End Presbyterian church, the W.B.A. Pioneer club, Priscilla club and the American Legion auxiliary. Her survivors are her children, Mrs. W.K. Breckenridge, Lowell, Ohio; W.M. Baker, Davenport; Kenneth V. Baker, Los Angeles; Mrs. E.M. Wangen, Denver; Nelly M. Baker and Arthur N. Baker, at home. Also 10 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at the East End Presbyterian church at 2 p.m. Monday conducted by the Rev. E.D. Byrd assisted by the Rev. W.J. Cresswell. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The body will be at the Lester Jay funeral home until Sunday morning, when it will be taken to the home, 302 North Buren avenue. It will be removed to the church at 1 p.m. Monday, and the casket will be closed at 2 p.m.
