Columbus Dashiell 78, whose home was near Eddyville, died at 11:35 p.m. Wednesday at the St. Joseph hospital. He was born February 5, 1865, in Columbia township, the son of George W. and Sarah Carnes Dashiell pioneer residents of Wapello county. He had lived his entire life on the same farm, and is survived by one brother, Francis M. Dashiell of Billings, Montana, and by one sister, Mrs. George Glilies of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother and a sister. The body will be at the Lester Jay funeral home until funeral arrangements are completed.
Funeral services for Columbus Dashiell, who died Wednesday evening at the St. Joseph hospital, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday from the Eddyville Methodist church in charge of the Rev. Clifford Dewey. Burial will be in the Highland cemetery at Eddyville. The body was taken to the Klein funeral home at Eddyville today and will remain there until 1:30 p.m. Saturday when it will be taken to the church.
