Mrs. Catherine Proctor, 92, wife of the late John Wesley Proctor, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Howk west of Shaul cemetery, at 9:30 a.m. today. Survivors include three sons, Charles H. Proctor, Santa Ana, California, Fred Proctor, Drakesville, and Earl Proctor, Ottumwa; two daughters, Mrs. Howk, and Mrs. Gertrude Garrison, Ash Grove; two brothers George Reinhard, Pollock, Missouri and Carl Reinhard near Blakesburg. The body was removed to the Johnson funeral chapel pending arrangements.
Short funeral services for Mrs. Catherine Proctor, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. James Howk, Ottumwa route 2, at 9:30 a.m. Friday, will be held at Johnson’s funeral chapel at 1 p.m. Sunday and at 2 p.m. at the Ash Grove Methodist church. The Rev. C.R. Reed, pastor of the Willard Street church, will be in charge. Burial will be in the Wesley chapel cemetery. Mrs. Proctor was the daughter of Henry and Elizabeth Reinhard and was born in Green township, Wapello county, October 30, 1851. She was married to John Wesley Proctor, March 6, 1873, who preceded her in death February 13, 1926. She had resided in Davis county until four years ago, making her home there with her daughter. She was a member of the Ash Grove church. Pallbearers will be L.A. Cohagen, Russell Day, Jay Roberts, Dwight Garrison, Orval Garrison and Kenneth McCarty.
