George Henry Brown, 47, died at 12:05 p.m. today at the home of his mother, Mrs. Laura Jay of Ottumwa, route 4. He was born June 27, 1896, at Bonaparte, the son of Seth and Laura Brown. He is survived by his mother, his stepfather, Bert Jay and the following brothers and sisters. Staff Sergeant Walter Jay, with the Army in Sicily; O.H. Jay, Mrs. Russell Jackson and Mrs. Harry Freshour, all of Ottumwa. He was preceded in death by his wife Mrs. Beulah Brown who died in December 1942. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel pending completion of funeral arrangements.
The funeral of George Henry Brown, Des Moines, who died Saturday at the home of his mother, Mrs. Laura Jay, rural route 4, will be held at Johnson’s funeral chapel at 9 a.m. Tuesday, conducted by the Rev. Charles E. McDowell of the Fundamentalist Baptist church. Burial will be in Glendale cemetery, Des Moines.
