Howard Spears, 49, of Delta, died at 5 p.m. Friday at the St. Joseph hospital in Ottumwa as a result of heart trouble. He was the son of Edgar and Martha Spears and was born February 10, 1894. He lived north of Fremont for many years. Survivors include his wife Ada; two daughters, Mrs. Donald Mason of Rose Hill and Mrs. Dale Aller of Delta; three grandchildren; four sisters, Mrs. Albert Bitner and Mrs. William McBride both of Ottumwa. Mrs. Claude Huff, Walla Walla, Washington, and Mrs. Zack Munden, Dayton, Washington, and three brothers Walter and Frank Spears both of Delta, and Ray Spears of Columbus Junction. Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Methodist church in Delta, conducted by the Rev. Alfred Worth. Burial will be taken from the community funeral chapel to the residence tonight.
