Mrs. Bertha Lancey, 35, of 111 North Cherry street, died at 7:15 a.m. today at the St. Joseph hospital. She was born February 8, 1908 at Zihlman, Maryland, and is survived by her husband Lynn Lancey, two children Marian Wagner of Marshalltown and Donald Wagner of Ottumwa. She is also survived by her mother, Mrs. Margaret Hill, two sisters, Mrs. E.S. Hollenbeck and Miss Hazel Hill, all of Ottumwa, and by one brother, Norman C. Hill, who is with the Navy stationed at Washington D.C. Mrs. Lancey was a member of the First Methodist church, the Eastern Star, Wapello White Shrine, Sunshine circle of the King’s Daughters and oft eh ladies auxiliary of the Lions club. The body is at the Vaughan funeral home pending the completion of funeral arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Lynn Lancey, who died early Tuesday at the St. Joseph hospital will be held at 3 p.m. Friday from the First Methodist church in charge of the Rev. Herbert A. Keck, D.D. Burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery where the Order of the Eastern Star will have charge of the service at the grave. The body will be taken to the Lancey home at 2 p.m. Thursday and will be returned to the church Friday at noon. The casket will be closed at the beginning of the service. Pallbearers will be M. Owens H. Rominger, Jim Voss, Earl Dimmitt, Harley Hartwig and Mike Popchuck.
