Mrs. Emma Baynard, 48, died at 7:45 p.m. Thursday at her home, 326 East Second street. The daughter of Edwin and Belle Erskine, she was born in Monroe county December 26, 1894, and lived in Ottumwa most of her life. She was a member of the West End Presbyterian church. Survivors include two daughters, Marcine and Annabelle Baynard, both at home; two sisters Mrs. May Horton, Ottumwa, and Mrs. Mae Richards, Kenosha, Wisconsin, and two brothers J.E. Erskine, Berkley, California and Edwin Erskine, Los Angeles, California. The body is at the Johnson funeral chapel awaiting arrangements.
Funeral services for Mrs. Emma Baynard, who died Tuesday evening at her home at 326 East Second street, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday from the Johnson funeral chapel. The Rev. Lloyd C. Snyder will be in charge of the services and burial will be in Ottumwa cemetery. The casket was taken to the residence at noon today and will be returned in the chapel at noon Friday. The pallbearers will be James Simpson, Albert Davis, Ed McKenzie, Joe Curran, George Humes and Harold Leach.
